The Role

We need an emotionally intelligent and positive Retail Assistant Manager focused on the smooth running of our daily store operations and delivering an exceptional customer experience. You will support the Store Manager in maximising sales, reaching targets, and maintaining high standards of service. A key part of this role is inspiring the team while ensuring our visual merchandising perfectly reflects the Mvintage brand.

Key Responsibilities

• Store Operations & Leadership: Support the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations and ensuring an efficient, customer-focused environment. Assist in developing strategies to increase our customer base, expand store traffic, and optimise profitability. Help the team meet sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring, and providing constructive feedback. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service and a welcoming store atmosphere. Support store administration, ensure compliance with company policies, assist with performance appraisals, and handle day-to-day staff or customer issues professionally.
• Visual Merchandising: Implement and maintain visual merchandising standards in line with Mvintage guidelines and campaigns. Plan and execute window displays, table layouts, and focal points to highlight key collections and best sellers. Ensure collections and hero products are displayed cohesively to tell the brand story. Regularly review displays to ensure jewellery is presented neatly, well-stocked, and aligned with promotions. Collaborate with the Store Manager and Head Office on new visual concepts and monitor the impact of visual changes on sales.
• Brand Ambassadorship & Analytics: Share feedback with the team on buying trends, customer needs, and product performance. Propose innovative ideas to increase market share and enhance the in-store experience. Sell Mvintage jewellery according to campaigns and customer wishes.

Requirements & Profile

• Experience: At least 1 year in retail in a supervisory or assistant managerial role. Experience in visual merchandising and team recruitment/training is highly preferred.
• Performance: A proven record of achieving sales targets and delivering strong performance.
• Skills: Strong organisational and time-management skills. Confident with sales data, analytics, and IT systems (POS, reporting tools).
• Languages: Fluency in English (knowledge of Maltese is an asset).
• Personality: A friendly, positive, and confident leader who inspires others and collaborates well. Must have a "can-do" attitude, resilience, and a solid work ethic.
• Availability: Reliable and committed, willing to work on weekends and public holidays as required. Must maintain a smart and presentable appearance.
