What we need?

We need a Retail Assistant Manager who is focused on the smooth running of our daily store operations and on delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role will support the Store Manager in maximising sales, reaching sales targets, and maintaining high standards of service and visual presentation. We need someone who is emotionally intelligent, has a positive attitude, and can motivate, guide, and inspire the team, while ensuring that our visual merchandising reflects the Mvintage brand at all times.

What will you be doing?

• Supporting the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations and ensuring an efficient, customer-focused environment.
• Assisting in developing business strategies to increase our customer base, expand store traffic, and optimise profitability.
• Helping the team meet sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring, and providing constructive feedback to sales staff.
• Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service, product knowledge, and a welcoming store atmosphere.
• Supporting store administration and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Visual merchandising responsibilities:

• Implementing and maintaining visual merchandising standards in line with Mvintage guidelines and campaigns.
• Planning and executing window displays, table layouts, and focal points to highlight key collections and best sellers.
• Ensuring collections and hero products are displayed cohesively and in a way that tells the brand story.
• Regularly reviewing displays to ensure jewellery is presented neatly, well-stocked, and aligned with current promotions.
• Collaborating with the Store Manager and Head Office on new visual concepts and providing feedback from customers and staff.
• Monitoring the impact of visual changes on sales and sharing insights to improve layouts and presentation.

Additional responsibilities:

• Sharing feedback with the team on buying trends, customer needs, and product performance.
• Proposing innovative ideas to increase market share and enhance the customer experience in-store.
• Assisting with performance appraisals to identify training needs and support career development.
• Handling day-to-day issues that may arise from staff or customers (complaints, queries, etc.) in a professional manner.
• Selling Mvintage jewellery according to campaigns and customer needs/wishes, acting as a brand ambassador.

What must you have?

• At least 1 year of experience in retail in a supervisory or assistant managerial position.
• A proven record of achieving sales targets and delivering strong performance.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• A solid work ethic and a proactive, hands-on attitude.
• Confidence working with sales and customer data, with the ability to analyse reports and identify trends.
• Exceptional customer service skills and a genuine passion for people and jewellery.
• Fluency in English (knowledge of Maltese will be considered an asset).

What preferred skills are we looking for?

• Experience in visual merchandising, ideally within jewellery, fashion, or accessories retail.
• Experience in recruiting, onboarding, and training team members.
• Confidence in using IT systems and retail software (POS, reporting tools, scheduling systems).
