Mvintage Takes a Stand Against Gender-Based Violence On this Day, and Always

On International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, Mvintage shows its support towards Dar Merhba Bik, one of Malta’s biggest emergency domestic violence accommodation for women and their children.

Mvintage, as a brand, holds women and organisations that empower women at its forefront. The 25th of November is the official day dedicated to the elimination of violence against women and Mvintage showed its full support, together as a team, to Dar Merhba Bik, an organisation that welcomes women and their children within their safe walls. Krystle Penza, Mvintage Founder & Designer, Petra Alisa Vella, Head of Retail and Operations, together with Mvintage staff, stood together in front of Mvintage Concept Store Iklin, with words of encouragement, holding up a plaque with the statement #NoToViolence.

The official day that supports this cause was the perfect fit for Mvintage to Spread the Light to Dar Merhba Bik’s residents and care workers. Especially with the new Christmas campaign launch, Mvintage is set on spreading light, joy, and happiness this festive season, considering that this year has been a tough year for many of us.

Handing out gifts to all Dar Merbha Bik’s, in total worth over €2,000, Krystle Penza, Mvintage’s Founder and Designer, claims ‘Mvintage is a brand led by women for women and empowerment is the focus of our brand. We are committed to making women feel strong, powerful, and courageous to stand up and say no to abuse. With our new collection, our main goal is not only to spread the light through our shining jewellery but also from heart to heart, making sure that that small light is shared with everyone, especially those who are passing through difficult situations. These gifts are only a small gesture to all the strong women and care workers at Dar Merhba Bik. We admire their determination, strength, courage and continuous hope for a better and brighter future.’

Elaine Pavia, Head of Dar Merhba Bik, is the main pillar for this organisation and the rock supporting all the women and their children who are sheltered in the home during such a delicate period in their lives. Upon receiving the gifts, Elaine claims ‘I appreciate organisations like Mvintage who are committed to our cause. Both our residents and care workers will be delighted to receive such gifts, especially during challenging periods in their lives. Although we see a lot of physical abuse cases that leave a physical mark, there are also a high number of cases that leave a psychological, invisible mark. Dar Merhba Bik is their safe space.’

Mvintage will keep supporting, and encourages everyone to support, this organisation long-term to help these women find the strength to overcome such a rough time in their lives.
