We’re celebrating stories of LOVE this Valentine’s!

Our third episode in this series features Tina and Bettina; childhood besties whose friendship has stood the test of time and distance. Tina is a Barcelona based painter with a sense of adventure and a love for the arts. Bettina is a marketing guru with a passion for travel and saving the environment. We sat down with them to discuss their thoughts on love and their friendship.

1) How long have you been best friends and how did you meet?

Bettina: Tina’s my oldest friend, I’ve known her since birth. She was probably my very first friend, I can’t remember a time without her in my life.

2) What quality do you admire most in each other?

Tina: I always turn to bet for an honest opinion. So definitely her honesty!

Bettina: I admire Tina’s ambition and energy more than anything, she never shies away from a challenge and lights up every room with her loud personality.

3) What is your fondest memory together?

Tina: There are way too many haha we've literally been at school together from primary to university, that's 17 years. But we recently went backpacking to Australia and New Zealand together for 2 months and it was such an amazing experience. 

Bettina: Trying to round up 24 years of good times is no easy task, but my fondest memory would have to be the first night we spent at a festival in New Zealand. We partied and laughed all night.

4) Why do you think you get along so well?

Bettina: I think we balance each other out quite well, and we both have quite a sense of humour which means we’re laughing half the time we’re together.

Tina: She's one of the easiest people I know. We respect each others boundaries and have the same sense of humour.

5) Describe each other in 3 words?

Tina: Clever, unique and genuine.

Bettina: Energetic, outgoing, understanding.

6) What does love mean to you?

Tina: An emotional journey!

Bettina: Love, whether platonic or romantic, to me means caring about someone, having their back and looking out for them.
