WHAT IS GDPR IN THE EU?

Has your inbox been filling up with countless emails from brands you’ve subscribed to in the past? Are you being asked to ‘Update your preferences’ or ‘Re-subscribe’? This is all due to the new GDPR regulations coming into effect in all EU member states as of the 25th of May 2018.

So what’s the fuss all about?

GDPR stands for General Data Protection Regulation, aiming to protect the data of all EU residents and make it easier for organisations to understand and comply with data protection rules. Through GDPR, retailers and brands are required to be more straightforward in regards to protecting their customers’ data. Amongst other things, the new rules and regulations being applied aim to keep retailers honest and frank about:

  • Why your data is required
  • How long your data is kept for
  • What information is needed
  • Who has access to your data apart from the retailer

You can learn more about this in our Privacy Policy.

This is just a small summary on the matter, however we want our loyal customers and newcomers to understand that we appreciate you and want to enhance your experience while keeping your data safe.
